Bioblitz
The Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition in partnership with the South Coast Conservation Program, and Miami River Streamkeepers hosted a BioBlitz in the Fraser Valley, July 2011.
We explored local flora and fauna while sharing the diversity of expertise, knowledge and experience of participants. BioBlitz partners were on hand with interactive displays ranging from invasive species to stream critters to First Nations traditional food plants. Activities included nocturnal surveys (e.g. for bats and owls) and daytime explorations to identify various species of plants, fish, small mammals, amphibians and insects.
